Product information "Anti-Human ENTPD2 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 2 (ENTPD2), also known as NTPDase2, is an integral membrane protein and a member of the E-NTPDase family, primarily responsible for hydrolyzing extracellular nucleoside triphosphates and diphosphates, such as ATP and ADP, to regulate purinergic signaling in various tissues. ENTPD2 is widely expressed in multiple organs, including the brain, liver, kidney, and immune tissues, and plays a key role in modulating neurotransmission, inflammation, and vascular function. The protein is subject to alternative splicing, resulting in multiple transcript variants, and its expression can be influenced by extracellular ATP and anti-inflammatory cytokines like IL-10, particularly in astrocytes during neuroinflammatory conditions. Clinically, ENTPD2 has been identified as a prognostic marker in several cancers, including kidney renal clear cell carcinoma, liver hepatocellular carcinoma, and lung adenocarcinoma, and is associated with diseases such as severe COVID-19 and frontal sinus disorders. Protein Function: In the nervous system, could hydrolyze ATP and other nucleotides to regulate purinergic neurotransmission. Hydrolyzes ADP only to a marginal extent. The order of activity with different substrates is ATP > GTP > CTP = ITP > UTP >> ADP = UDP [The Uniprot Consortium]
