Product Description: Prokineticin 1 (PROK1), also known as Endocrine Gland-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (EG-VEGF), is a small peptide hormone primarily expressed in steroidogenic endocrine organs such as the ovary, testis, adrenal glands, and placenta. It features a conserved N-terminal hexapeptide sequence (AVITGA) and ten cysteine residues forming five disulfide bridges, essential for its bioactivity. PROK1 induces proliferation, migration, and fenestration of capillary endothelial cells in endocrine tissues, playing a key role in angiogenesis under hypoxic conditions. It binds to G-protein-coupled receptors PROKR1 and PROKR2 with high affinity, mediating diverse physiological functions including gastrointestinal motility, reproduction, and vascular development.
