Product information "Anti-Human EFNA4 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Ephrin A4 (EFNA4) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored ligand for Eph receptors, belonging to the ephrin family. It is a 17.5 kDa protein that migrates to 18-25 kDa due to glycosylation. EFNA4 binds to multiple EphA receptors, including EphA2, EphA3, EphA4, EphA5, EphA6, EphA7, and EphB1. The protein plays crucial roles in cell migration, repulsion, and adhesion during development, particularly in the nervous system and erythropoiesis. EFNA4 is expressed in various tissues and has been implicated in cancer progression. In hepatocellular carcinoma, EFNA4 suppression inhibits cell proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis by downregulating PYGO2. Additionally, EFNA4-EphA10 signaling promotes cell migration and spheroid formation in oral squamous cell carcinoma by upregulating NANOG expression. EFNA4 has also been associated with craniofrontonasal syndrome and craniosynostosis. Protein Function: Cell surface GPI-bound ligand for Eph receptors, a family of receptor tyrosine kinases which are crucial for migration, repulsion and adhesion during neuronal, vascular and epithelial development. Binds promiscuously Eph receptors residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. May play a role in the interaction between activated B-lymphocytes and dendritic cells in tonsils [The Uniprot Consortium]
