Product Description: CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 1 (CNOT1) is a crucial scaffolding protein within the CCR4-NOT complex, a major cellular mRNA deadenylase responsible for removing poly(A) tails from mRNAs, thereby regulating mRNA stability and degradation. CNOT1 facilitates the assembly and enzymatic activity of the complex by binding other subunits, including enzymatic and non-enzymatic components, and is involved in processes such as negative regulation of intracellular signaling, mRNA processing body (P-body) assembly, and gene expression regulation. Functionally, it contributes to poly(A)-specific ribonuclease activity and interacts with RNA-binding proteins to mediate mRNA decay, miRNA-mediated repression, and translational repression. Structurally, CNOT1 contains armadillo repeat domains enabling molecular adaptor activity and nuclear receptor binding.
