CDX2 regulates several essential processes in the development and function of the lower gastrointestinal tract. Reduced CDX2 expression has been linked to more aggressive tumor features such as TNM stage, metastasis, and vessel invasion in colorectal cancer. CDX2 is an adverse and independent prognostic factor for overall survival in colorectal cancer patients.
