Product information "Anti-Human CDHR5 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Cadherin-related family member 5 (CDHR5), also known as MLPCDH or MUCDHL, is a member of the cadherin superfamily and encodes a transmembrane protein with essential roles in cell adhesion and organ morphogenesis. It features four main functional domains: a cadherin domain, a mucin-like domain, a proline-rich region, and a PDZ binding motif. CDHR5 is predominantly expressed in epithelial cells of various organs, including the kidneys and lungs. Its expression has been linked to several cancers, notably, low levels of CDHR5 are associated with poor prognosis in renal cell carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and liver cancer. In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), increased CDHR5 expression correlates with tumor progression and metastasis. Protein Function: Intermicrovillar adhesion molecule that forms, via its extracellular domain, calcium-dependent heterophilic complexes with CDHR2 on adjacent microvilli. Thereby, controls the packing of microvilli at the apical membrane of epithelial cells. Through its cytoplasmic domain, interacts with microvillus cytoplasmic proteins to form the intermicrovillar adhesion complex/IMAC. This complex plays a central role in microvilli and epithelial brush border differentiation [The Uniprot Consortium]
