Product Description: The TNNC1 gene encodes for Troponin C(cTnC), a protein crucial for muscle contraction by binding calcium. Troponin C is part of the troponin complex found in striated muscle, including cardiac and slow skeletal muscle. It plays a key role in activating muscle contraction by binding calcium ions. Mutations in the TNNC1 gene have been associated with conditions like dilated cardiomyopathy. The gene is located on chromosome 3p21.3-3p14.3 in humans.
