Product information "Anti-Human BCL2L11 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Bcl-2-like protein 11 (BCL2L11), also known as BIM, is a pro-apoptotic member of the BCL-2 protein family. It contains a BH3 domain and interacts with other BCL-2 family proteins to promote apoptosis. BCL2L11 exists in multiple isoforms, with BimL and BimS being more potent inducers of cell death than BimEL. The protein is regulated at transcriptional, translational, and post-translational levels, playing crucial roles in immune responses and tissue homeostasis. BCL2L11 is involved in various cellular processes, including anoikis and autophagy regulation. Dysregulation of BCL2L11 has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders. In cancer, suppression of BCL2L11 expression can contribute to tumor progression and metastasis. Additionally, genetic variants in BCL2L11 have been associated with an increased risk of developing ulcerative forms of Buruli ulcer, a mycobacterial skin infection. Protein Function: Induces apoptosis and anoikis. Isoform BimL is more potent than isoform BimEL. Isoform Bim-alpha1, isoform Bim-alpha2 and isoform Bim-alpha3 induce apoptosis, although less potent than isoform BimEL, isoform BimL and isoform BimS. Isoform Bim-gamma induces apoptosis. Isoform Bim-alpha3 induces apoptosis possibly through a caspase-mediated pathway. Isoform BimAC and isoform BimABC lack the ability to induce apoptosis [The Uniprot Consortium]
