Product information "Anti-Human ATP1B4 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: ATPase Na+/K+ transporting family member beta 4 (ATP1B4), a unique member of the Na+/K+-ATPase beta-subunit family, exhibits distinct structural and functional properties compared to its relatives. In lower vertebrates, it functions as a beta-subunit of the Na,K-ATPase ion pump at the plasma membrane, but in placental mammals, ATP1B4-encoded BetaM protein has evolved significantly. It lost its ancestral ion transport role and gained new properties as a muscle-specific protein localized to the inner nuclear membrane. This protein contains extended glutamate-rich clusters in its N-terminal domain and acts as a transcriptional coregulator during muscle development, especially in late fetal and early postnatal stages. ATP1B4's function in regulating gene expression through interaction with factors like SKIP is critical for perinatal development. Protein Function: May act as a transcriptional coregulator during muscle development through its interaction with SNW1. Has lost its ancestral function as a Na,K-ATPase beta-subunit [The Uniprot Consortium]
