Product Description: Ankyrin repeat and SOCS box containing 15 (ASB15) is a protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of protein turnover and muscle cell development. It is predominantly expressed in skeletal muscle and functions as a substrate-recognition component of a SCF-like ECS (Elongin-Cullin-SOCS-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex. ASB15 has been shown to stimulate protein synthesis and regulate differentiation of muscle cells, contributing to muscle growth. Overexpression of ASB15 in myoblasts leads to increased protein synthesis and larger skeletal muscle fiber area, while constructs lacking specific motifs (e.g., ankyrin repeat or SOCS box) can alter differentiation and protein degradation. ASB15 is part of the suppressor of cytokine signaling box superfamily, which participates in the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway.
