Product information "Anti-Human APC6 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Cell Division Cycle 16 (CDC16) is a protein encoded by the CDC16 gene in humans. It functions as a component of the anaphase-promoting complex (APC), a multiprotein E3 ubiquitin ligase that governs exit from mitosis by targeting cell cycle proteins for degradation by the 26S proteasome. The APC complex is crucial for the regulation of mitotic nuclear division and contains a tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) domain, which is involved in protein-protein interactions. CDC16 has been shown to interact with CDC27 and CDC20, and its dysregulation has been associated with diseases such as Deafness, Autosomal Dominant 65, and Developmental And Epileptic Encephalopathy 16. The protein is highly conserved among eukaryotic organisms and plays a critical role in the cell cycle, particularly in the transition from mitosis to the G1 phase. Protein Function: Component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle (PubMed:18485873). The APC/C complex acts by mediating ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of target proteins: it mainly mediates the formation of 'Lys-11'-linked polyubiquitin chains and, to a lower extent, the formation of 'Lys-48'- and 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitin chains (PubMed:18485873). The APC/C complex catalyzes assembly of branched 'Lys-11'-/'Lys-48'-linked branched ubiquitin chains on target proteins (PubMed:29033132) [The Uniprot Consortium]
