Product information "Anti-Human ACP1 Antibody Pair"
Product Description: Acid Phosphatase 1 (ACP1), encoded by the ACP1 gene on chromosome 2p25.3, is a polymorphic enzyme with dual tyrosine phosphatase and thiamine monophosphatase activities. The protein's molecular weight is approximately 18 kDa, with structural variability among isoforms affecting enzymatic activity. It exists as three isoforms (F, S, and A) generated by alternative splicing, each differing in substrate affinity and tissue distribution. ACP1 modulates signal transduction by dephosphorylating phosphotyrosine peptides and regulates erythrocyte glucose metabolism. It is implicated in immune responses, influencing T-cell receptor signaling and oxidative stress pathways. Clinically, ACP1 polymorphisms are associated with metabolic disorders, including obesity and type 2 diabetes, potentially through insulin signaling dysregulation. Additionally, altered ACP1 expression has been linked to cancer progression, particularly in leukemia and melanoma, due to its role in cell proliferation and apoptosis. Protein Function: Acts on tyrosine phosphorylated proteins, low-MW aryl phosphates and natural and synthetic acyl phosphates with differences in substrate specificity between isoform 1 and isoform 2 , Does not possess phosphatase activity [The Uniprot Consortium]
