Product information "Anti-Human ACLY Antibody Pair"
Product Description: ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of citrate to acetyl-CoA, a vital building block for fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis, as well as isoprenoid-based protein modifications and histone acetylation. ACLY is a tetramer composed of identical subunits and is activated by insulin. It plays a crucial role in linking carbohydrate metabolism to fatty acid biosynthesis. In cancer cells, ACLY is often upregulated and its inhibition can induce proliferation arrest, making it a potential therapeutic target. Additionally, ACLY contributes to epigenetic regulation through histone acetylation and is involved in innate and adaptive immune responses. Its activity is regulated by phosphorylation at different sites, including Ser455, which increases its enzymatic activity and is crucial for acetyl-CoA production and histone acetylation. Protein Function: Catalyzes the cleavage of citrate into oxaloacetate and acetyl-CoA, the latter serving as common substrate in multiple biochemical reactions in protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism [The Uniprot Consortium]
