Soytone (Papaic/Pancreatic Digest of Soybean Meal, Peptone S)

A general purpose peptone that is used for growth promotion in many media formulations including tryptic soy broth and agar. Synonyms: Papaic/Pancreatic Digest of Soybean Meal, Peptone S, CAS No: 91079-46-8, Appearance: Supplied as a medium tan crystalline powder. Amino Nitrogen: <5%, Total Nitrogen: <13%, pH (2%): 6.8 ± 0.4, Loss on Drying: <5%, Residue on Ignition: <15%, Growth Supporting Properties: Agar Formulation: Growth Test, Broth Formulation: Growth Test, Standard Plate Count: <5000CFU/g, Molds/Yeasts:<100CFU/g, Coliforms: <10CFU/g, Salmonella: Negative/25g, , Note: Soytone has been heated to a minimum of 80°C for a minimum of 1 hour, including a minimum of 5 minutes at a minimum of 105°C. It is dried at a minimum of 140°C.
