PrimaPure Smooth Muscle Cell Freezing Medium. PrimaPure(TM) Smooth Muscle Cell Freezing Medium is ideal for refreezing PrimaPure human or animal smooth muscle cells after aliquoting the cells into the desired quantities. The medium is optimized to maintain optimal cell health and viability upon thawing. MATERIALS AND METHODS 1. Trypsinize the cells as in Section IV. Steps C1-C11 of the PrimaPure smooth muscle cells instruction manual. 2. Flick the tip of the conical tube with your fingers to loosen the pellet. 3. Resuspend the cells in Freezing Medium at 5-10x105 cells per ml. 4. Aliquot 1 ml of cells per cryovial. 5. Freeze the cells slowly by placing the cryovials in a styrofoam box with lid closed in -80o freezer overnight. 6. Transfer the frozen cryovials of cells to liquid nitrogen.
