Dextrose agar is used for the culture of microorganisms with or without added blood. Supplementation with 5% blood provides additional growth factors for fastidious microorganisms. When pH is lowered to 3.5 medium can be used to obtain total counts of yeasts in food. Appearance: Light to dark tan, homogeneous, freeflowing. , Solubility: Amber, clear, complete with heat. pH (43g/L): As Reported , Important Note: This product as supplied is intended for research use only, not for use in human, therapeutic or diagnostic applications without the expressed written authorization of United States Biological.
