Phosphoinositide 3-kinase p85 beta subunit (PI 3-Kinase p85B), also called regulatory subunit 2 (PIK3-R2) is an 85kD, 728aa regulatory subunit of the PI3K complex. It shares ubiquitous expression and overlapping function with the p85 alpha subunit, but the two are differentially phosphorylated and may have different effects on apoptosis. Within aa516-642, human p85B shares 97%, 96% and 68% aa identity with mouse and rat p85B and human p85A. Full-length human p85A and p85B share 59% aa identity. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
