Anti-MUC5AC (Apomucin Major Airway GlycoProtein, Mucin 5 subtype AC tracheobronchial, Mucin 5 Subtyp

This monoclonal antibody recognizes the peptide core of gastric mucin M1 (>1,000kD) (recently identified as Mucin 5AC). Its epitope is destroyed by beta-mercaptoethanol and proteases but not by periodate treatment. Antibody to gastric mucin M1 reacts with the gastric epi thelium of normal human gastrointestinal tract as well as with the precancerous and cancerous colon but not w ith normal adult colon. It also reacts with fetal colonic mucosa. Resurgence of gastric mucin r eactivity during colonic carcinogenesis is due to re-expression of the peptide core of gastric (or fet al colonic) mucins. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunofluorescence, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells, Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml, Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Stomach, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
