LDL receptor-related protein1(LRP-1), also known as CD91 and the A2-macroglobulin receptor, is a widely expressed type I transmembrane (TM) protein in the LDL receptor superfamily. LRP-1 is important for the clearance of circulating molecules involved in fatty acid metabolism, inhibition of serine proteases, and modulation of other receptors. Human LRP-1 is N-glycosylated, sialylated, and cleaved in the Golgi to produce an 85kD TM beta chain and a 515kD alpha chain. Within the region used as an immunogen, human LRP-1 shares 99% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat LRP-1. A shed soluble form of LRP-1 circulates in the serum and retains ligand binding properties. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml , Western Blot: 2ug/ml , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Myeloma cells with B cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
