Anti-Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA)

The carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a member of a large family of glycoproteins and a useful tumor marker for adenocarcinoma. In the past, clinical utility of CEA antibodies in immunopathology has been limited by cross-reactivity with CEA-related antigens, particularly Non-Specific Cross-Reacting Antigen (NCA), in normal colon mucosa and human granulocytes. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry Staining, Brightness, 80, Cytoplasmic staining, 3+, Membrane staining, 2+, Background, 2+, Staining of mucus 2+, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Pair: Capture: C1299-87W , Detection: C1299-87O, Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
