As a member of B7 family, B7-H4 (VTCN1) plays a critical role in the regulation of antigen-specific immune responses. B7-H4 is a co-stimulatory protein expressed in activated T cells and is involved in the negative regulation of cell-mediated immunity in peripheral tissues. B7-H4 ligation to its receptor BTLA T-lymphocytes results in inhibition of T-cell activation, cytokine secretion, and the development of cytotoxicity. B7-H4 protein is typically expressed on the surface of activated T-cells, B-cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells, but not in most normal tissues. In tissues, B7-H4 is over expressed in breast, endometrial, ovarian, renal cell (RCC), and non-small cell lung carcinomas (NSCLC). B7-H4 has been identified as an important cancer marker for breast and ovarian cancers. Applications: Suitable for use in Peptide ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Peptide ELISA: 1:64,000 (Detection limit dilution), Western Blot: 0.5-1.5ug/ml. Detects an ~28kD band in human pancreas lysates. , Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Control Peptide: B0000-35A-P, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
