Pyruvate Kinase, Muscle Isoform M2, Recombinant Human, aa1-531, His tag (PKM2)

PKM2 is an isoenzyme of the glycolytic enzyme pyruvate kinase. This protein catalyzes the production of pyruvate and ATP from phosphoenolpyruvate. PKM2 interacting with Opa proteins, a bacterial outer membrane protein involved in gonococcal adherence to and invasion of human cells, is required for bacterial pathogenesis. It is specifically expressed at high levels in tumor cells, and can be measured in plasma of patients with advanced breast cancer. Recombinant human PKM2, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E. coli and purified by using conventional chromatography. One unit will convert 1.0 pmole of phospho(enol)pyruvate to pyruvate per minute at pH 7.5 at 37°C. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and freeze at -70°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months.
