Nigericin (sodium salt)

Nigericin is a lipophilic potassium ionophore that has been found in S. hygroscopicus. It mediates neutral antiport of potassium and proton ions across mitochondrial membranes. Nigericin (10 µM) induces T. gondii egress in infected human foreskin fibroblasts (HFFs).
