Adenylate kinase (AK, adenosine triphosphate-adenosine monophosphate [ATP-AMP] phospho- , transferase, EC 2.7.4.3) is a ubiquitous monomeric enzyme involved energy metabolism of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
