CpG-Oligodesoxynukleotide
CpG-Oligodesoxynukleotide (ODN) sind kurze, einzelsträngige DNA-Moleküle mit einem hohen CpG-Anteil sowie mit einem partiellen oder kompletten Thiophosphat-Rückgrat. ODNs mit unmethylierten CpG-Motiven werden von PAMP-Rezeptoren (PRR) wie Toll-Like Rezeptor 9 (TLR9) erkannt und wirken daher als Immunstimulans. CpG-Oligodesoxynukleotide induzieren die Produktion von Interferonen und Zytokinen sowie die Reifung und Aktivierung von B-Zellen, Monozyten, NK-Zellen und dendritischen Zellen. Daher werden CpG-Oligodesoxynukleotide als Adjuvans und in der Tumortherapie eingesetzt. ODNs mit einem TTAGGG-Motiv wirken hingegen als TLR9-Antagonisten und haben immunsupprimierende Effekte.
