Anti-CDH2 (N-Cadherin, Cadherin-2, CDw325, Neural Cadherin, N-cadherin, CD325, CDHN, NCAD) (APC)

N-Cadherin (Neural Cadherin, also known as CD325 and Cadherin-2) is a 130-135kD member of the "classical" (or type I) cadherin subfamily, cadherin superfamily of proteins. It is expressed on multiple cell types, including neurons, fibroblasts, Schwann cells, endothelial cells, and hepatic stellate cells. N-Cadherin mediates homotypic binding, either in cis or trans (adjacent cell). Pro-N-Cadherin is expressed as an 881aa type I transmembrane glycoprotein. It may be initially inserted into the endoplasmic reticulum, where the 15-20kD prodomain (aa26-159) is cleaved by Proprotein Convertase, and the mature molecule (aa160-906) is transported to the surface. Mature N-Cadherin contains a 565aa extracellular region (aa160-724) that possesses five cadherin domains (aa160-714), and a 161aa cytoplasmic tail that undergoes phosphorylation at 785aa. There is one splice variant that contains a 10aa substitution for aa839-906. Over aa160-724, human N-Cadherin shares 98% aa identity with mouse N-Cadherin. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Absorption: 620-650nm , Emission: 660-670nm, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C before opening. DO NOT FREEZE! Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use. Stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. APC is light sensitive.
