Anti-phospho-NMDA R2B (Ser1480)

Anti-NMDA R2B pS1480 antibody is directed against phosphorylated NMDA receptor protein. The antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. The antibody is specific for NMDA receptor phosphorylated at S1480. Immunolabeling is blocked by ?-phosphatase treatment. Reactivity is expected from the following species based on 100% sequence homology: bovine, canine, chicken, human, mouse, non-human primates and Xenopus. Protein function: NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels with high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. Mediated by glycine. In concert with DAPK1 at extrasynaptic sites, acts as a central mediator for stroke damage. Its phosphorylation at Ser-1303 by DAPK1 enhances synaptic NMDA receptor channel activity inducing injurious Ca2 influx through them, resulting in an irreversible neuronal death.
