Anti-phospho-NMDA NR2B Subunit (Tyr1472)

Anti-NMDA NR2B Subunit pY1472 antibody is directed against NMDA receptor protein. The antibody was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity purification. The antibody is specific for NMDA NR2B phosphorylated at Y1472. Immunolabeling is completely blocked by blocked by either ?-Ptase or by the phosphopeptide used as the antigen but not by the corresponding dephosphopeptide. Reactivity is expected from the following species based on 100% sequence homology: bovine, canine, chicken, human, mouse, non-human primate and zebra fish. Protein function: NMDA receptor subtype of glutamate-gated ion channels with high calcium permeability and voltage-dependent sensitivity to magnesium. Mediated by glycine. In concert with DAPK1 at extrasynaptic sites, acts as a central mediator for stroke damage. Its phosphorylation at Ser-1303 by DAPK1 enhances synaptic NMDA receptor channel activity inducing injurious Ca2 influx through them, resulting in an irreversible neuronal death.
