Functional: Inhibits the activation of human and mouse Netrin-1 to human or mouse receptors DCC or UNC5 (KD antibody-Netrin-1 is 1.5nM). Anti-Netrin-1 (human), mAb (rec.) (blocking) (2F5) is composed of human variable regions (VH and VL) (?-chain) of immunoglobulin fused to the human lgG2 Fc domain. Netrin-1 controls guidance of CNS commissural axons and peripheral motor axons. Its association with either DCC or some UNC5 receptors will lead to axon attraction or repulsion, respectively. It also serves as a survival factor via its association with its receptors which prevent the initiation of apoptosis. Netrin-1 is also involved in tumorigenesis by regulating apoptosis. Netrin-1 promotes atherosclerosis by retaining macrophages in the artery wall. Netrin-1 also governs induced pluripotent stem cell (iPS) formation and improves reprogramming efficiency of human and mouse somatic cells by limiting apoptosis mediated by Netrin-1 receptors DCC or UNC5b.
