Anti-Growth Associated Protein 43 (GAP43, Neuromodulin, PP46, p57, B-50, F1, Axonal membrane protein

GAP-43 is expressed by developing and regenerating neurons, and to a lesser extent, reactive glial cells. It is also a major component of neuronal growth cones. GAP-43 is used to specifically label injured neurons and to score neuronal regeneration. This antibody reacts with the three known isoforms and to both kinase C phosphorylated and dephosphorylated forms of GAP-43. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5-1.0ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry (formalin, paraffin, and formalin/acetone): 1-2 ug/ml, Optimal dilution determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
