Anti-Dnmt3b (DNMT3B, DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3B, DNA methyltransferase HsaIIIB)

CpG methylation is an epigenetic modification that is important for embryonic development, imprinting, and X-chromosome inactivation. Studies in mice have demonstrated that DNA methylation is required for mammalian development. Dnmt3b is a DNA methyltransferase which is thought to function in de novo methylation, rather than maintenance methylation. The protein localizes primarily to the nucleus and its expression is developmentally regulated. Mutations in this gene cause the immunodeficiency-centromeric instability-facial anomalies (ICF)syndrome. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and ELISA. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:2000, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 1:50-100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
