Diacylglycerol kinase beta (DGK-b) is an ~90kD kinase that phosphorylates the lipid diacylglycerol. It is expressed in the brain and colocalizes with D1 and D2 dopamine receptors. DGK-b promotes the formation and maturation of dendritic spines. It contains two EF-hand motifs (aa149-184, 194-229), two zinc finger regions (aa244-294, aa309-358), and a catalytic domain (aa434-568). Alternate splicing generates an additional isoform with a 31aa C-terminal deletion. Over aa 1-143, human DGK-b shares 97aa sequence identity with mouse and rat DGK-b. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
