Anti-Atg4A (ATG4A, Autophagy Related Protein 4 Homolog A, Autophagin 2)

ATG4A (Autophagy related protein 4 homolog A, also Autophagin 2) is a 50kD cytosolic cysteine protease mostly found in skeletal muscle and brain. It belongs to the Autophagin protein family which is involved in autophagy, a biological process in which endogenous protein and damaged organelles are destroyed. There is a potential for multiple splice forms, namely isoform 1, isoform 2, and isoform 3. Human ATG4A shares 92% and 94% aa sequence identity with mouse and canine ATG4A, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.1-0.2ug/ml, ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile 40-50% glycerol and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
