FGIN-1-27 is an indoleacetamide that acts as a high affinity agonist of the 18 kDa translocator protein (TSPO, previously called the peripheral benzodiazepine receptor) with a Ki value of 5 nM. It can enhance steroidogenesis of neuroactive steroids such as allopregnanolone (Cay-16930).
