Anti-phospho-Desmoplakin (Ser2849)

Anti-Desmoplakin pS2849 was affinity purified from monospecific antiserum by immunoaffinity chromatography. A BLAST analysis was used to suggest cross-reactivity with mouse and human based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with Desmoplakin pS2849 from other sources has not been determined. Desmoplakin pS2849 is high molecular weight protein of desmosomes. It is a member of the plakin or cytolinker family and is involved in the organization of the desmosomal cadherin-plakoglobin complexes into plasma membrane domains in the anchoring of intermediate filaments to the desmosomes. The phosphorylation theoretically affects its association with epidermal, simple cytokeratins and VIM intermediate filaments.
