Anti-Stanniocalcin 2 (STC2, Stanniocalcin Related Protein)

Stanniocalcin 2 (STC2) is a secreted disulfide-linked homodimeric glycoprotein hormone that is related to the STC protein first discovered from corpuscles of stannius in fish. STC2 is expressed in a wide variety of tissues. In the ovary, STC-2 has been shown to be a paracrine hormone that regulates granulosa cell function. The 279 amino acids of the human mature STC2 sequence show 36% aa identity with human STC1 and 88% aa identity with mouse STC2. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Direct ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Direct ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml. The detection limit for recombinant human Stanniocalcin 2 is ~2ng/well., Western Blot: 1-2ug/ml. Using a colormetric detection system, the detection limit is ~25ng/lane under non-reducing and reducing conditions., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
