Acts on position 39 in mitochondrial tRNA(Phe). Also catalyzes pseudouridylation of mRNAs in nucleus: acts as a regulator of pre-mRNA splicing by mediating pseudouridylation of pre-mRNAs at locations associated with alternatively spliced regions.
