Reg III alpha (regenerating gene IIIa) is a secreted, 17kD, type III member of the Reg family, C-type lectin superfamily of proteins. It is expressed in intestine and exocrine pancreas, where it may have a protective effect against infection and TNF-a-induced stress. Mature mouse Reg IIIa is 149aa in length (aa27-175). It is essentially a soluble C-type lectin domain (aa40-173). There are four type III genes (a-delta) in the mouse Reg family. IIIa has less that 60% aa identity to beta-delta. Mature mouse Reg IIIa is 87% and 61% aa identical to rat and human Reg IIIa, respectively. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.5-1ug/ml, Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C for short-term only. Reconstitute with sterile 40-50% glycerol, aliquot and store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
