Anti-Prostate Specific Antigen, total (total PSA), clone 1.B.907

PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia. Anti-PSA is useful in the positive identification of metastatic deposits of prostatic origin. Applications: Suitable for use in detection of total PSA antigen in two-site immunoassay. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Matched Pairs: Capture: P9054-27, P9054-24 , Detection: P9054-31, P9054-24, P9054-27 , Hybridoma: Sp2/0 myeloma cells with spleen cells from Balb/c mice. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
