Anti-Prostate Specific Antigen, total (total PSA), clone 1.B.906

PSA is a chymotrypsin-like serine protease (kallikrein family) produced by the prostate epithelium, and abundant in seminal fluid. PSA can be detected in the sera of patients with prostatic carcinoma. It is predominantly complexed to a liver-derived serine protease inhibitor, alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (ACT). A higher proportion of serum PSA is complexed to ACT in prostate cancer than in benign prostate hyperplasia. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Lateral FLow. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Recommended Pair: For detection of free PSA:, P9054-26 is suitable for use as the capture antibody. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
