This prostate-specific gene encodes a cytoplasmic protein, as well as a polytopic membrane protein which may serve as a target in prostate cancer diagnosis and immunotherapy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2011], Protein function: Has calcium-dependent phospholipid scramblase activity, scrambles phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine and galactosylceramide. Does not exhibit calcium-activated chloride channel (CaCC) activity (PubMed:22075693). May play a role in cell-cell interactions (PubMed:17308099). [The UniProt Consortium] Recommended dilutions: Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000. Immunohistochemistry: 1/100 - 1/300. Immunofluorescence: 1/200 - 1/1000. ELISA: 1/20000.
