Anti-Neurofilament (NF 200kD, NF-200, NF-H, NF)

This monoclonal antibody reacts with a 200kD protein, identified as heavy sub-unit of neurofilaments (NF-H). Neurofilaments make up the main structural elements of axons and dendrites and are found in neurons, peripheral nerves, and sympathetic ganglion cells. Neurofilaments consist of three major subunits with molecular weights of 68kD (NF-L), 160kD (NF-M) and 200kD (NF-H). Anti-neurofilament stains a number of neural, neuroendocrine, and endocrine tumors. Neuromas, ganglioneuromas, gangliogliomas, ganglioneuroblastomas, and neuroblastomas stain positively for anti-neurofilament. Neurofilaments are also present in paragangliomas as well as adrenal and extra-adrenal pheochromocytomas. Carcinoids, neuroendocrine carcinomas of the skin, and oat cell carcinomas of the lung also express neurofilament. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Flow Cytometry and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE): 0.25-0.5ug/ml for 30 min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissues sections in 10mM sodium citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Brain, Neuroblastoma, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
