Anti-Myoglobin (MB) (BSA & Azide Free)

Myoglobin is a cytoplasmic, single chain polypeptide of 153aa and contains a single heme group. Myoglobin is found in skeletal and cardiac muscle but not in smooth muscle and functions as an oxygen transporting pigment. Upon damage to the muscle cell due to infarction of a coronary artery, neurological trauma, infection of tumor processes, myoglobin escapes to the environment and can be found in plasma using sensitive assays. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (formalin/paraffin): 1:500-1:1000 for 20 minutes at RT. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin/paraffin tissues., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Skeletal muscle, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
