Anti-MART-1 (Melanoma Antigen Recognize by T cells 1, Melan-A)

This antibody recognizes a protein doublet of 20-22kD, identified as MART-1 (Melanoma Antigen Recognized by T cells 1) or Melan-A. MART-1 is a newly identified melanocyte differentiation antigen recognized by autologous cytotoxic T lymphocytes. Seven other melanoma associated antigens recognized by autologous cytotoxic T cells include MAGE-1, MAGE-3, tyrosinase, gp100, gp75, BAGE-1, and GAGE-1. Subcellular fractionation shows that MART-1 is pres ent in melanosomes and endoplasmic reticulum. This monoclonal antibody labels melanomas and other tumors showing melanocytic differentiation. It is also a useful positive-marker for angiomyolipomas. It does not stain tumor cells of epithelial, lymphoid, glial, or mesenchymal origin. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Immunofluorescence, Flow Cytometry, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 0.5-1ug/10e6 cells, Western Blot: 0.5-1ug/ml, Immunofluorescence: 1-2ug/ml, Immunoprecipitation: 1-2ug/500ug protein lysate, Immunohistochemistry (Frozen & Formalin fixed paraffin embedded): 0.5-1ug/ml/30min @ RT, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: SK-MEL-13 and SK-MEL-19 Melanoma cell lines, Melanomas, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
