Anti-FK506 Binding Protein 2 (FKBP2, FKBP13, FKBP-13, 13kD FKBP)

FK506 binding protein, 13kD molecular weight (FKBP13), also called FKBP2, is a peptidyl-prolyl isomerase that catalyzes the transition between cis- and trans-proline residues critical for proper folding of proteins. The macrolide immunosuppressant FK506 is a potent FKBP13 inhibitor. FKBP13 is strongly induced by calcium ionophores and agents that cause endoplasmic reticulum stress, such as tunicamycin. FKBP13 is membrane-associated and tightly bound to the cytoskeletal protein Band 4.1 in erythrocytes, suggesting a role in maintaining structural proteins. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
