Anti-Fibroblast Activation Protein alpha (FAPa, FAP, 170kD Melanoma Membrane-bound Gelatinase, DKFZP

FAP alpha a type II membrane protein belonging to the serine protease family. FAP alpha is upregulated on activated fibroblasts in response to wounding, and may also be involved in epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during development and tissue repair. Active FAP alpha is a 170kD homodimeric protein which can also exist as a soluble form. FAP alpha can also form heterodimeric complexes with CD26 (DPP4), and these proteins may function co-ordinately to modulate the growth, differentiation, adhesion and metastasis of tumor cells. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 10ug/ml. Requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections. Sodium citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Positive Control: Uterus, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
