Senses cytosolic dsRNA mediating NLRP3 inflammasome formation in macrophages and type I interferon production in myeloid dendritic cells (PubMed:23871209). Required for NLRP3 activation induced by viral dsRNA and bacterial RNA (PubMed:23871209).
