Anti-DAZ1 (Deleted in Azoospermia Protein 1, DAZ)

The human Deleted in AZoospermia (DAZ) genes encode a family of RNA-binding proteins that are expressed exclusively in the germ cells and play a role in the regulation of mRNA translation (1). Members of the family include DAZ, DAZL, and BOULE. The essential role of DAZL and BOULE in spermatogenesis has been established (2-4), but the role of DAZ remains unclear. Men with deletions in the DAZ1 gene can produce sperm, although in lower numbers, and are capable of reproduction and transmission of the genetic lesions (5-7). Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot and Immunoprecipitation. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:1000. Incubate membrane with diluted antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight., Immunoprecipitation: 1:100, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
