CD83, a 45kD type 1 glyoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. Originally described as a maturation marker for dendritic cells, CD83 plays a role in the regulation of antigen presentation, thymic T-cell maturation, B-cell function and peripheral T-cell activation. Activated dendritic cells and B-cells release a soluble form of CD83 that is reported to have an immunosuppressive effect, suggesting a therapeutic role for sCD83 in the regulation of immune disorders. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: Neat-1:10, 10ul labels 10e6 cells in 100ul, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Spleen cells from immunized rats was fused with cells of the P3X63.Ag8.653 myeloma cell line. Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. , Caution: FITC conjugates are sensitive to light. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
