Anti-CD41 (Integrin alpha IIb chain, gpIIb-IIIa, Platelet Membrane gpIIb-IIIa Complex), clone 3H97

CD41 is the integrin alpha IIb chain, also called gpIIb, which is non-covalently associated with the integrin beta 3 chain, also called gpIIIa (CD61), forming the gpIIbIIIa complex. Antibody reacts speci?cally with normal platelets and megakaryocytes but studies have shown that it does not react with Glanzmann's thrombasthenic platelets which lack the membrane glycoprotein gpllbllla. Does not inhibit the platelet aggregation and secretion induced by collagen, arachidonic acid and thrombin. Does not inhibit the ?brinogen binding to human platelets induced by ADP, arachidonic acid and PAF. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 10-20ug/ml (culture supernatants) will allow visualization of NP 40 solubized human normal platelets. Under reducing conditions they will bind against the human platelet membrane glycoproteins IIb/IIIa complex, which have a molecular weights of ~130,000 (IIb) and 115,000 (IIIa). The titer of purified ascites was determined by ELISA coated with 100ul of 1x10e8 washed platelets , Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
